Langtang Valley Trek offers you the nearest Himalayan trekking exploration from Kathmandu valley. This adventure takes you to the Langtang region where you will explore local ethnic culture in addition to the pristine nature.
Although this is a Himalayan adventure, it is moderately difficult trekking that involves walking through amazing landscapes. You will also enjoy local villages and culture that come along the trail. As a matter of fact, this region of the mountain was the worst victim of the devastating earthquake in 2015. A dry landslide swept away the whole Langtang Valley Trek village after the earthquake hit the country. But the region has already come back into its feet and the trekking activity has also resumed. You will surely enjoy the views of the mountains and on top of that, you will get to see how devastating the earthquake must have been in the region.
Although the devastation is a long gone thing now, it has certainly left an undeletable and bad impression on people’s lives. The serious thing aside, you will surely enjoy the trek that will take you along the beautiful nature and wonderful Tamang settlements. In addition to the Langtang Valley Trek, the region also offers an incredible Ganjo La Pass Trek to explore more of the cultural wonders. You can also extend this trip to Gosainkunda to make it Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.

Early in the morning, We drive from Kathmandu to SyabruBesi which takes about eight hours (more or less) on a private Jeep. Driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to SyabruBesi passing Dhunche, we’ll get a glimpse of Ganesh Himal after driving along the mighty Trishuli River. Terraced green hills and lush forests make the drive very pleasurable. Parts of the road though may be bumpy and under construction. Overnight in SyabruBesi.

After crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola (small river), we ascend on a steep trail which will lead us to the Lama Hotel. En route, we could see red pandas, monkeys, and bears if we are lucky. Overnight in Lama Hotel.
The trek route follows Gumanechok at GhodaTabela which literally means the Horse Stable. After this, the trail climbs gradually to the beautiful valley with yaks about. Our trail continues to climb up the widening valley, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders. We pass a Buddhist monastery before reaching the Langtang village which was affected by the April 2015 earthquake. We continue on our trail to KyanjingGompa. Overnight in KyanjingGompa.
Today is a day to rest as we explore the area. We can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of LangtangLirung or ascend KyangjinRi (4,350 m) which is the highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks.

We decided to celebrate my wife\'s birthday by doing a 8 day Langtang Valley trek in late December. Nara was our guide and Bir Bahadur was our porter. They were recommended to us by a couple who had hired their services earlier. Nara was very patient with us as this was our first time doing multi-day trekking. Coming from a trekking experience of over 25 years, he helped us pace ourselves and kept our spirits up throughout. Our porter Biru even did a summit climb to Kyangjin-Ri (along with Nara) at 6.30am in the morning with us, all the time guiding and helping us navigate the difficult terrain. Overall, we had a really good time with these two. Highly recommended.
I am glad that I chose to trek to the Langtang - Gosainkunda region with Master Himalaya Treks. Mr. Ram Barakoti helped me in deciding the region for my trek and also provided me a very experienced guide, Devendra, who took great care of me. He was careful every time so that I was safe during the trekking. His food recommendations and the tea house selections were up to the mark. I can\'t thank enough Master Himalaya team for making the best arrangements and providing me a great experience.
