Gokyo Lake Trek is a trekking exploration of the Gokyo valley in the Khumbu. The valley lies peacefully amidst the mountains where 5 beautiful glacial lakes have their magnificent presence. Although the trek goes to the Everest region, it doesn’t take you to the base camp. It takes a different trail to the Everest Base Camp Trek from Namche and goes to the Gokyo valley.

This beautiful adventure takes you to the Gokyo valley deeper into the Himalayas. You will get to enjoy the view of mountains in addition to the charming lakes in the valley. A massive glacier view will also keep you excited. The view of the mountains and beautiful moments at the Gokyo lake is simply awesome. You will come across dramatic views of the Himalayan peaks when you hike to the viewpoint of Gokyo Ri. Sitting on the Lakefront and watching the glacial lake is a beautiful moment that you will enjoy on the trip. The view of the surrounding mountains is just awe-inspiring.

Day 1 Arrival in TIA Kathmandu and transfer to hotel (1,300 m)

After your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu, Nepal a Master Himalaya representative will be there for your warm welcome who will help You to transfer to the hotel, Introduce your trekking guide. Afternoon explores the Tourist Colorful market ThamelBazzar Down Town. The evening will be for welcome dinner with Master Himalaya team in Thamelbazzar.


Day 2 Fly to Lukla (30 mins)and Trek to Phakding (2,651m/3-4 Hrs)

From today we start our Gokyo Lake Trek. After breakfast, we take an early flight to Lukla, from where we start your trek. the flight to Lukla about 35mins. In lukla, we meet our remaining team members. after then we start out short trekking today's destination pkahding following Dudhkoshi river "River of milk". overnight in tea house.


Day 3 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/5-6 hrs)

After breakfast, today we trek approx. 6 hours to Namche bazaar. the route follows Dudhkoshi river through many suspension bridges. On the way inspiring glimpse of Mt. Everest right up next Nuptse- Lhotse ridge. after three hours through beautiful pine forest finally reach an administrative village, Namche Bazar. Overnight in tea house.


Day 4 Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

This day for acclimating in Namche Bazaar. stay active and Romain instead of being lazy. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) and health experts recommend staying at least one extra night. Namche Bazar has ATMs, cyber, cafés, bakery, colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday morning. We also hike up the Syangboche Airport near the Everest View Hotel.


Day 5 Trek NamcheBazzar - Phorse Village (3,810 m/ 5-6 Hrs)

The trail climbs steeply out of the valley through rhododendron forest, juniper and large conifers start to appear as the elevation increases making the trekking very pristine in springtime. The trail passes through Yak Kharkas and summer settlements. The views of Khumbi La and Tawache are magnificent throughout the day.


Day 6 Trek Phorse Village - Machhermo (4,470 m/ 5-6 Hrs)

In this day we head toward the Dudh Koshi from where the route turns north. There are two trails and our guide will choose the best option considering the group. After certain hour trekking we will reach PhortseTanga, near the river. Our walk will be around 5-6 hours. Overnight in PhortseTanga.


Day 7 Trek Machhermo - Gokyo (4,800 m/5-6 hrs)

From PhortseThanga it is an uphill climb to Machhermo. We will talk through the beautiful rhododendron forest and pass through a waterfall before reaching Tongba Village. We will continue our uphill trek and pass through Dhole, Labarum and Luza villages and reach to the Machhermo. Our trek will be around 4 – 5 hours. Overnight in Machhermo.


Day 8 Trek Gokyo Valley and climb Gokyo-Ri (5,357 m)

Early in the morning, we have a steep climb up to the top of Gokyo-Ri at an elevation of 5,483m. There are ample rewards for those who attempt this trip you get stunning views of the super Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, including the giants Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang.


Day 9 Trek Gokyo to Dole, trek 3-4 Hrs

Following the trail, we make our descent to Dole.


Day 10 Trek Dole – Namche, trek 4-5 Hrs

Today, there will be a gentle heading down-hill to the lower elevation from Pheriche. The easy walk all the to Namche bazzar via Pangboche and Tengboche takes us to today destination Namche bazaar.


Day 11 Trek Namche Bazaar – Lukla, trek 6-8 Hrs

This is our last day of trekking in EBC as we return to Lukla where we began our trek. We enjoy this time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. after the path climbs up to Monjo and then runs easily to Benkar, Phakding, and Lukla.


Day 12 Fly back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we fly back to Kathmandu for about 35 mins. After your Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. After the long trek, you may be tired you will have nice SPA and massage available in Kathmandu which is the extra applicable Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.


Day 13 Departure farewell

Breakfast at Hotel. Hotel Check-out and transfer to International airport as per your schedule.

  • How many hours do we need to hike per day?

    Gokyo Valley is a moderate trek, can accomplish with the average hikers. The hike won't exceed eight hours per day. But in someday hike vary from 4-5 hours a day. Some routes might get challenging but proper guidance will make you able to complete the trek. 

    Are there issues on acclimatizing?

    High altitude sickness can depend upon each individual. considering the time and situation travelers are provided sufficient acclimatization with one stops at Namche, With adequate information about the high altitude our guide will assist you with certain safety and precautions on the trek. 

    Is there Wi-Fi Available ...?? 

    Yes, Wi-Fi is accessible on a certain location only. Namche, Dingboche, Louche, Gorakshep, and Lukla are the place where you can access Wi-Fi. In someplace you will charge for the Wi-Fi access. 

    What kind of Foods are available on the Trek...??? 

    As per your requirement, we can able to arrange a full-time personal cook and assistant on-hand to create the menu and maintain hygiene. or you can have the option to have foods provided by Tea House. The menu goes like this

    Breakfast: Tea served in your tent, coffee or hot chocolate, porridge or a grain cereal, toast with spreads, eggs (fried, omelet or boiled) and tomatoes, boiled water.

    Lunch: Juice, potatoes, cucumber and carrot salad, cheese and gherkins, chapatis, pizza, canned tuna and meats, fresh oranges and bananas, boiled water.

    Dinner: Soup, steamed vegetables, rice, fried chicken, daal, spaghetti, chocolate cake, fresh apples, tea or hot chocolate, boiled water.

    When is the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp? 

    The favorable season for Everest Base Camp runs from Mid- September to May. Among these months October seems to be the most favorable month for trekking with great views, moderate temperature. But as per data, many travelers enjoy trekking in winter (Dec- Jan) due to fewer visitors in the area and skies gets clear. The most interesting part to travel in winter is to celebrate Christmas and New Year's at the top of the world. 

    Note: If you wish to trek in winter, we would advise getting suitable trekking clothes for low temperature, sleeping bags, down jackets and fleece sleeping bags to keep you cozy.
