Lake Tilicho that stands at the elevation of 4,919 meters above sea level is one of the highest situated lakes on earth. While traversing the Annapurna circuit trail with a detour to Lake Tilicho, you will surely explore the magical charm of the lake. In addition to the awesome charms of the regular Annapurna Circuit Trek, you will have the magnificent wonder of the Lake Tilicho and its surroundings.

After your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu, Nepal a Master Himalaya representative will be there for your warm welcome who will help you to transfer to the hotel, Introduce your trekking guide. Afternoon explores the Tourist Colorful market Thamel Bazaar Down Town. The evening will be for well come dinner with Master Himalaya team in Thamel bazaar.
Today we will take a public bus from Kathmandu to Besisahar and from there we will take a jeep to Syange. We will witness beautiful landscape, rivers, and waterfalls on the way.
We walk crossing the Marshyangdi river and travel through Bamboo and Rhododendron forests to reach Tal Besi. Our adventure then takes us to the foot of a large waterfall which is known as Tal (1675m). We then descend to Karte and ascend to Dharapani (1920 m).
The trail climbs through forest to Dhanakyu (2290m), crosses several landslides and travels uphill through the forest to Lattemarang (2360m). The trail climbs and then descends to Thanchok and to Kotho (2590m), a meadow surrounded by huge pine and spruce trees. Walking about half- hour we will reach to Chame, the administrative headquarter of the Manang district.
After Breakfast, the trek starts from Chame. We will reach Bhratang after walking through the pine forest and huge apple orchard which is surrounded by a stone wall. The trail forward has admirable views of Annapurna II, Pisang peak, Himalchuli and Ngadi Chuli and reaches to Pisang, an upper part of Manang Valley.
There are two routes to Manang but we follow the trail that takes us to Upper Pisang via Geru. This trail guarantees excellent views of the beautiful landscape and the mighty mountains including Annapurna and Pisang. We begin to notice a contrast in the landscape and vegetation from today. The cold and dry climate also creates a much harsher environment. Our short visit to Barge monastery, the largest monastery in the entire district of Manang will be memorable Overnight at Manang.
After having breakfast we climb the ridge to the north of the village for excellent views of Annapurna IV, Annapurna II and Tarke Kang (7193m). If we descend from the village we will see the glacial lake at the foot of the huge icefall that drops from Gangapurna (7454m) and then back to our lodge.
After acclimatizing at Manang, we continue our adventure towards the Tilicho Lake, situated on the west end of Manang following the path down to the river. After crossing the Khangsar Khola, we reach Khangsar and head towards the village region, still very traditional Tibetan and known as the Last Village of Nepal. Overnight in Shirikharka.
Our journey starts early in the morning at around 6 am as we try to avoid the wind. From the Basecamp to the Tilicho lake takes another 3-4 hours. Tilicho Lake is a cold barren place in the afternoon and is the highest located lake of the world. After we spend some time around Tilicho Lake, we will return the same way back to Base Camp as there are no accommodation facilities at Tilicho Lake area. Overnight in Tilicho Base Camp.
Continuing on from Manang, the trail ascends to Yak Kharka. We make the climb steadily through Tenki Manang, leaving the Marsyangdi Valley. Continuing along the Jarsang Khola Valley, we reach Yak Kharka at 4,000 m. Herds of yaks and vegetations appear to thin out.
It is an uphill walk to Thorang high camp. After walking for some time we cross a suspension bridge and reach Ledar village. We ascend further more and pass through towering cliffs before reaching Thorang Phedi, the last village before Thorong La pass. On this trip, we are rewarded with one of the best views of Mt. Gundang, Mt.Syagang, Thorung Peak and Mt. Khatungkan. The word Phedi in Nepalese is referred to as the foot of a mountain. After Thorang Phedi we will see the condition of clients then only move our feet towards high camp.
Crossing Thorong La pass (5416 m), one of the highest passes in the world, will be our ultimate objective today. We will be crossing the pass from east to west (Manang to Muktinath) which is the easiest and safest direction. We get up around five in the morning and walk up to the mountain. When we finally make it to the top, we realize that our journey was worth it. We can take a few photos before heading to Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorong La pass. Overnight in Muktinath.
We head along the trail down to the Eklebhatti and then follow the Kaligandaki River to Jomsom. Jomsom is a large town with many facilities. It is also the headquarter and official town for whole Mustang district where all the district government offices are present.
A 32-minutes morning flight takes us to Pokhara from Jomsom. Once we arrive at Pokhara airport, we then drive to the hotel. Overnight in Hotel.
Drive back to Kathmandu viewing green hill and Trisuli River Bank enjoy admirable views. In Kathmandu, You can Do some Last minutes shopping. In the evening, join farewell dinner organized by Master Himalaya Treks. Overnight in Kathmandu.
