A Wonderful Traverse through River Valley to High Mountain Pass,


Trekking over a mountain pass over 5,000 meters is another highlight of this trip. Thorong La Himalayan pass stands impressively at the elevation of 5,416 meters above sea level. It is a truly an adventure trekking journey from a low river valley up towards the mountainous landscape. Eventually, you will cross the pass just to descend to another side of the mountain and enter another river valley. Marshyangdi River Valley and Kali Gandaki River valleys will offer their distinct charms to the trekkers.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in TIA Kathmandu and transfer to hotel (1300 m)

After your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu, Nepal a Master Himalaya representative will be there for your warm welcome who will help you to transfer to the hotel, Introduce your trekking guide. Afternoon explores the Tourist Colorful market ThamelBazzar Down Town. The evening will be for well come dinner with Master Himalaya team in Thamelbazzar.

Day 2 Drive from Kathmandu to Chame (11 to 12 Hours Drive).

Today we will take a public bus from Kathmandu to Besisahar and from there we will take a jeep to Chame.  We will witness beautiful landscapes, rivers, and waterfalls on the way.    

Day 3 Trek from Chame to Pisang (5/6 Hours Trek)

On this day, you come across Paungda Danda where you can witness the curved faced rock above 1500m from the Marsyandi river, Passing through a steep and narrow valley above Chame village. From this spot, one can notice the significant mountain range including the Pisang peak at the northeast. Furthermore, the trail leads towards the Manang valley.

Day 4 Trek from Pisang to Manang (5/6 Hours Trek)

The trails lead towards the upper route of Pisang via the geru village. The trail embraces the stunning views of north face Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho, and Pisang Peak. The climate seems much more cold and dry as we ascend towards the Tibetan settlement. Witness the true color of Buddhist culture in a short visit to Barge Monastery - one of the largest monasteries in Manang. On this day, you will explore monasteries, observe Buddhist shrines, and finally reach to the largest settlement of the Gurung community "Manang"

Day 5 Acclimatization in Manang

Proper acclimatization helps to accommodate your body to the high altitude. Manang is the perfect spot to acclimate with well-equipped hotels, tea houses, and areas to explore. Beginning of the day with some normal hike around Gangapurna Lake and base camp. Witness the Annapurna III, Tilicho, Pisang, and Chulu Peaks. Explore the Manang village area and traditional monasteries. Moreover, take a short tour at the Himalayan Rescue Association in Vraja village Manang and get brief info about Altitude issues and solutions.

Day 6 Trek to Yak Kharka (4/5 Hours Trek)

One day acclimatization at Manang will be quite enough for the 14 Days trip. Today's highlight - climb up to Tenki village - ascend towards the northwest following the Marshyangdi river. The trail passes through a few pastures land and juniper trees. On the route, we will come across the small village called Gunsan. Some flat mud roof wooden teahouses draw your attraction at Gunsan. Finally, after crossing the wooden bridge we hike towards the spectacular valley Yak Kharka.

Day 7 Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi or High Camp (4/5 Hours Trek)

Today's highlight - Reach to the foot of thorong la pass, Thorong Phedi. Pass from the narrow trail and descend towards the thorong Phedi. Hike on some uninhabited route, rugged terrain, and different lush lowlands.  

Day 8 Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass (7/8 Hours Trek)

Today's highlight - Crossing the Thorongla Pass - stunning views of surrounded peaks - Enjoy high altitude breakfast - Witness the panoramic views of majestic Himalayan Peaks - finally reach the sacred place "Muktinath". Early morning start our hike to complete the serious challenge to cross the Thorongla Pass and feel the icy air on the hike. Slowly and gradually we will be rewarded by majestic peaks on the pass.

Day 9 Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom/Marpha and Tatopani (1200m/3,940ft)Distance(113km/70 miles) by local bus -6-7 hrs

We visit Muktinath temple before continuing our journey on a local bus ride to Tatopani. It will be a rough drive through the deepest gorges in the world. We will go from the arid highlands to lush green forestsTatopani is famous for natural hot spring, it is a place where we can soak in the hot springs.

Day 10 Trek to Ghorepani (6/7 Hours Trek)

We leave the hot springs behind and cross to the east side of the Kali Gandaki River. We ascend to Ghorepani through villages of Sikha and Chitre, the villages of ethnic thakali people. we go through a terraced farmland with mountains all around. then pass lush forests filled with rhododendron, birch, magnolia we stop at Ghorepani, a beautiful village located at a ridge top.

Day 11 Hike from Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Then to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara

This will be our final day on the trail. We ascend to poon Hill (3,210m) early morning to view sunrise over the whole Annapurna, Dhaulagiri massif including Mt Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the surrounding rice terrace A favorite spot among photographers After visiting Poonhill, we return to our Ghorepani lodge for breakfast then we will trek back to Birethanti then drive to Pokhara, overnight at Pokhara.

Day 12 Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. Its a 200 Km route that first follows first along the Marsyangdi River and then the Trishuli River. You may also choose to return by a 25-minute flight (not included in the package). Our trek package completes at Kathmandu

Day 13 Departure from Kathmandu.
