Lower Dolpo region in a remote Himalaya mountainous region consist of giant mountain ranges like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Kanjiroba among many others. The region lies in shadow of Himalayas. It is a true experience of off-the-beaten-path trek. Lower Dolpo trek begins after landing Juphal Airport flying from Kathmandu.

This trek passes through shey-phoksundo national park with spectacular mountain scenery, Buddhist monasteries and yak caravans. The caravans of yak and sheep are found in giant numbers on the trade route with Tibet which exchanges culture and daily goods with the valley. The path goes around the deepest Himalayan lake "phoksundo".

Fitness: This trip needs a good level of fitness, we recommend you to practice some exercises couple of months prior the trip

Altitude sickness: Proper acclimatization is required to avoid altitude sickness in this reason

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu

Day 02: Kathmandu city sightseeing & trek preparation

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj & transfer to Hotel

Day 04: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jhupal (Dolpo)(2,300m) and trek to Dunai (2,850m), trek 2-3 hrs

Day 05: Trek Dunai to Tarakot (2,543m), Trek 5-6 hrs

Day 06: Trek tarakot to Laini (3,160 m), trek 6-7 hrs

Day 07: Trek Laini to Nawarpani (3,545m), trek 5 hrs

Day 08: Trek Nawarpani to Do Tarap (4,090m), trek 7-8 hrs

Day 09: Acclimatization day at Do Tarap. (Rest)

Day 10: Trek Do tarap to Numa La Base Camp (4440m), trek 6-7 hrs

Day 11: Cross Numa La (5,200m), and camp at Pelung Tang (4465m): 6-7 hrs

Day 12: Cross Baga La (5,000m/16,630f) and camp Dajok Tang (4,080m), trek 6 hrs

Day 13: Trek Dajok Tang to Ringmo (3,600m), trek 3-4 hrs

Day 14: Rest Day at Ringmo for a hike to Phoksundo Lake

Day 15: Trek Ringmo to Shyanta (2520m), 5-6 hrs walk

Day 16: Trek Shyanta to Jhupal

Day 17: Fly jhupal to napalgunj and nepalgunj to Kathmandu same day

Day 18: Departure farewell
